Haaretz, 13.07.2012

Ali Abuminah's comment on twitter: Vibrant democracy! "Tel Aviv residents form group to press for deportation of African migrants"
  • All African migrants should be deported in peaceful way (the group opposes violence)
  • "It was very hard for me at first to say 'expulsion, but people forget that human rights don't belong only to those who come here as guests; they are also the rights of those who live here," says an attorney.
  • Note the language used: Action Committee to Remove the Infiltrators

Israel's immigration police granted power to deport foreign activists from West Bank

Haaretz, 13.07.2012

Summary:
  • IDF issues a new order which allows inspectors from the Interior Ministry's enforcement unit to remove any foreigners found in West Bank who are without a permit, no matter in which area (C, B or A) they are.
  • In the past Israeli High Court struck down such steps saying that inspectors have no authority in the West Bank...
  • Example of last years' detention of two activists from Australia and Spain detained in area A (under full Palestinian control) and brought to Israel where deportation proceedings started - the two petitioned the High Court of Justice, won and were released.

Israel's High Court postpones date for removal of Ulpana homes

Haaretz, 01.07.2012

Comment: Compare how demolition orders are carried out on Palestinians, and how they are postponed and dealt-with in a very sensitive manner when it concerns illegal Jewish outposts on Palestinian land.  Also see how carefully the dismantling process is being planned - detailed plans taking months to prepare - four stages of dismantling... (Demolition order postponed from July to November 2012, and -- if ever -- the houses will be re-assembled/dismantled/removed, not demolished.)
